I know, short term fix, but otherwise, my whole work would be in ruins. P.P.S I solved the problem for 2 languages - renamed English to Russian, since the client doesn't need English right now. It almost seems, that Drupal was not made for this kind of a thing. Also, sometimes, the prefix is added for russian, and then I can't revert back to Latvian, since there are no prefixes added for the default language, and the node alias is not displayed, only the node ID.Īny Ideas of how could I fix this? It is the only thing standing between me and completion of a project. When I select Russian, the content is translated, but none of the menu items appear. The language switcher however, could do with some improvements. Content translation was moved into core and an improved architecture made internationalization of complex sites much easier. It is simply pointing to the node in English. How to customize the language switcher in Drupal 8 Drupal 8 dramatically improved the capabilities for creating multilingual websites. Since I'm using PathAuto, I believed, that that the language switcher would be using the newly generated node alias, but it is not. Language Switcher Dropdown is a very simple module that exposes a new block, similar to the default Language Switcher block provided by Locale module. By default, the language switching block allows. When I translate it into English, and add the menu items for English, all is well too, but the prefix for the link is not added. The Language module provides a block that can be used to switch the current interface and content language. When I create some content in Latvian and the corresponding menu items, all is well. I have in total 3 languages: Latvian, Russian and English, with Latvian as default. Or more exactly, the are for english, not russian. The language switcher points the browser to the node with the content translated, but the menu items are not working. I have translated both the menu entries and the content, and I want to use the language switcher to change both the menu item language and the content language. Fluent in multiple programming languages and current technologies Fast learner, strategic thinker, Flair for developing unique solutions to complex problems Analytical & detail-oriented yet. In this case, although translation_path_get_translations doesn't return any translated path, the language switcher should be printed, because the view or module will take care of the translation.I've created a page with 3 languages, but the language switcher will not work properly. when it's a view or a module-generated content). The problem is that sometimes the translated version is under the same path that the original content (e.g. easy language switch, Vine embeds, and plugin recommendations. If there's no translated paths, the block does not print the switcher. WordPress (WP or ) is a free and open-source content management system (CMS) written in hypertext preprocessor (PHP) language. The language switcher block uses the function translation_path_get_translations to get the path of the translated version of the content being viewed. (Optional) Enable the Language switcher (interface text, without administration language) block if you need a language switcher block which doesnt. I want the language switcher block to appear in a content page only if there's a translation for that content. This module provides a new language switcher block that displays a list of links using the language code as link text. I have multi-language website in Drupal, but not all content is translated.
